atleast I'm not the only one that has people as about "my escort" I'm sure that doesn't make you feel any better cause the pre 98's do look a little like them

The Escort gets knocked by know it alls, but the 97+ ones were the best Ford made and they got good reviews for their handling.
In my family we have two and they may not be fast, but they're good daily drivers. One has a 5 speed and it is fun to drive and gets up to 35 MPG.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!

I've had one person call my car a taurus...he was a friend and I now endlessly make fun of his "Fairmont" (01' GT). He asked for it.

My friend has a 98 Escort, with MTX, and he loves driving it. He got a good deal too - $4000 for it (with remote entry/alarm). Only thing is it's slow in first gear, but who cares?

I owned a 92 escort gt, that little baby was so fun to drive. I think it being a 5sp helped....but then I shattered the valve spring and it all went downhill after that......
