Tire weights do indeed vary.

For example, a Toyo T-1S in 215/45-17 weighs
20 pounds while a Bridgestone S-02 weighs in
at 24 pounds.

A tire like the P-Zero Rosso which uses high
tensile, but thin steel in the belts is going
to be lighter than a standard tire. Another
big example is run-flat tires; they weigh so
much that GM doesn't offer them on the Z06.
