Well, got my new tires installed today (Bridgestone RE730s). However, one the way home, I thought the car handled like crud. It didn't feel like the car wanted to go in the direction that I pointed it. It felt like I was driving my wife's SUV, the car didn't want to catch and turn.
When I got home, I let the car sit for three hours, then noticed that the air pressure in each was 40+psi. Would this have caused my sensation?
I'm going to adjust the pressure in the morning, and take it for a spin, but wanted some input from the experts.
Thanks.
You've got it. Many tire shops use extra pressure when mounting the tire to help ensure that the bead seals well to the rim. Let your pressure down to normal in the a.m. and it should feel better.
