... that I like most (if not all) new cars' exteriors. So to decide whether I REALLY like a certain car, I've begun looking at its dashboard .... and quite frankly, I can't find many that are better than the 'Tour. I even used to love the Audi A4, but now seeing its interior I'm not so sure....
Has anybody else done this?

Yep, Ive learned to stay away from Nissan/Infinity interiors. They are way too cheap. The Altima is nice on the outside (for being Japanese) but the interior quality is on the same level as a Kia. Same goes for the new G35, exterior nice, interior cheap.

Talk about cheap interiors...Mercedes' first generation of MLs had seats that made the folding chairs in the gym look like Lay-Z-Boy recliners. They've made improvements, but still very lacking IMO.

the same goes for the chevy's. the inside to the vettes and the camaroes are all cheap and have no taste at all. i like the inside of the tours because they are agressive yet you dont have to look to hard to find the button you want.

it's the first thing i look at. if i don't like the guage cluster (setup, colors) I won't buy it. Kind of explains why i never bought a Pontiac.

The most impressive looking dash/console I've seen recently is surprisingly enough on a mazda, the Protege5 wagon to be exact, plus they look awesome(if you like sporty wagons) on the outside. There is one in my apartment complex and I look in at the interior everytime I walk by(me like brushed alum.)

Good for them. I haven't seen the dash yet though. True dat on the Pontiacs ... especially the newest Grand AM!

The RSX interior/dash is unbelevible. Also find the Jetta interior quite nice for some reason.
98.5 Contour SVT totally stock...for now.

I think the ConTique interiors are rather cheap looking too. Too much plastic. The plastic isnt of very high quality, neither. The interior of my moms BMW is perfect though. Just the right balance of wood/leather/plastic. I like how the headlamp switch is nice and high, and I like how the side vents are built into the doors, and not the dash. Even the interior of the Pontiac is nicer than the Mystique. The shifter in the Mystique is too high, the radio is too small, the switches have a "cheap" feel to them, but hey, this was only a 19K car, you can't work miracles!
