I just bought a set of NT 555 tires in 225 40 17 and so far so good. The tire is MUCH quieter than the KDW s and the ride is suprisingly smooth for such a low profile tire. The ride is almost softer with these tires. I got them for about $110 a tire (US$) from discount tire.com with my SVTOA discount.
The shorter sidewall is causing more wheel hop under HARD acceleration in the wet but handling is good. Will know better how it handles on the track in August at Mosport with the SVTOA.
