Hi There,

I want to kno if I can fit Enkei Fubuki's 17x7 silver wheels on my 97 ford contour. I know nothing about wheels and what works and what doesn't. All I kno is I love these rims and want them on my car =). This is all I know about them: "either 4 or 5 lug applications". Does that mean anything to you?

Thanks

Here's a picture of them if you're curious:

Yes but it has to be a certain offset. I can't remember what it is but look through the tire and wheel forums and you will find it.

Most likely they won't come in the right size, but you can check.

the bolt patern is 4X108, that means 4 bolts, and 108mm measures from bolt center to bolt center of the opposite bolt.

42mm offset, means the mounting surface of the rim is 42mm farther to the outside of the wheel when measured from the center-line of the wheel.

The seller is pretty sure the offset is 40mm. But he say's he sells "adapters that are perfect for adapting specific wheels to specific cars". Do you think I could pull it off if I got one of these adapters?

You can't adapt offset inward using spacers,
only outward. Not that spacers are that good
of an idea anyway (one more thing to vibrate,
shimmy, and/or break).

Don't spend a dime on wheels unless you KNOW
for a fact they're going to fit. Someone who
is "pretty sure" what offset a set of wheels
is doesn't sound reputable to me, and it does
not seem you know if the 4x108mm bolt pattern
is available either.

Thanks for that advice timd. Here is what the seller just said to me in an e-mail. Tell me if you believe him or not:

"Hi, and thanks for your email. I don't believe that these wheels need
adapters, at least not with the 42mm offset. Anything with a +20 or more
should fit. "

Do you think I'm taking a stupid risk getting these rims?

Stupid risk... The guy sounds like an idiot....

ONLY buy the if the ofset is 40-45mm (that should fit as long as you go 215 wide tire, 42mm is optimum.)

and.... and this is very important 4 X 108 bolt patern. Do not get anything else...they will noe fit.

a 20 offset would sit out about 1" father than the stock wheel, past the fender so you would rip the fender to pieces.

Great, thanks for you help. You saved me a good amount of money. As you could see the guy was giving me some unsure answers so I called an Enkei manufacturer to get the exact specs and they don't fit the 4x108 bolt pattern. Which sucks, but oh well. Thanks again all.

You may want to let that fool know he's an
idiot for trying to sell you something that
had no possible chance of fitting your car.
