i believe the lower the offset the more the wheel will stick out. most people run a 7.5 wheel w/ a 42 offset and 7 inch wheel w/ 40 offset. if u ran a 7.5 w/ 40 offset, it'll make the wheel stick out more and very likely rub. so 45offset w/ a 7.5 wheel should be pretty good. thats why our stock wheels are 48-49 offset and they dont stick out to the fender (they're also 6.5 inch wheels). to get the 6.5 to stick out to the fender you'd probably have to run a 38-40 offset.
