I went to price club today and Ican get the KDWS in 205 55 zr 16 for 109.99 on the rim and out the door. This also inludes road hazard insurance in the price.they have to order them which takes 7-10 days. This seems like a pretty good price to me I was wondering if anyone has found a better deal. Also I have 25k on the original GSC's i wondered if that was about the average life everyone else has gotten out of the tire.

That's a good price if you're set on the KDWS. 7-10 days seems like a long time. www.tirerack.com has it listed for $97. Add about $15 for shipping and a local shop to install. Usually takes 2-3 days for shipping to your door.

Do you need an all-season tire? The KDWS is an all-season tire. The KDW is a summer performance tire and will give you better dry handling. Sticking with your stock size (assume '98 SVT 205/55R16) the KDW is $145, however, the 215/50R16 is only $90 (plus the est $15) and will give you subsantial performance improvements over the Goodyear. Speedometer error is 1.1%, which doesn't mean much if it's already probably off 2@60mph.

Or to stick with your stock size, Luke recommends the Bridgestone Potenza RE-730 more than G-Force at only $104.

That is a good price if you already belong to price club. If you don't, you need to add the annual membership fee.

I mounted a set of 225/50R16 KDWS's on my 98 SVT E0 today. I got them from Tire Rack. Order was placed on line Saturday. They confirmed the order Monday and shipped. Tires received Wednesday and mounted the same day. I mounted and balanced them myself so I saved some money there. Tires were $109.00 each and shipping for all four was about $32.00.

I had 225's on the car already, but the KDWS's are actually slightly wider. They still fit fine, but clearances are close.

I have not driven on them enough yet to form an opinion but initial impression is that they are very stiff, almost feels like driving with a fresh set of struts. Ride and noise level is great. The jury is still out on handling but they probably need a little wear on them and I need to get used to them.

Any mods required to clear both your sets of
225s on your E0?

I got 225's and have had them for 4 month's now and they have never rubbed. But I have a 2000 SVT so maybe that doesn't count.

No modifications were required. The fit on the rear is close to the strut and the lower suspension arm, so there is no room for anything any wider. They are not anywhere near the fender lip. The front still has plenty of room.

THX, Roger R -- this on stock SVT wheels or
your new 17" Cello wheels? If the latter, do
you know the offset off-hand?

Hmm I found my KDWs to be very noisy, they made a groan at low speeds (<10 mph).

I switched to Sumitomos and they are much quieter. Maybe my KDWs got noiser with age...?

KDW is very noisy. KDWS is a different tire and is much quieter.
