I have the Firestone SZ 50 EP's and all I can say is they are great in dry and in the wet, even with standing water at highway speeds from downpours. The cornering is remarkable and they stick to all paved surfaces. I have 7000 miles on them and tread wear does not seem to be an issue.

Thanks for all the info guys... I want a good grip tires, and not looking too much at cosmetic stuff. *No offense* I think I'm going to look into some Pole Positions, or the RE730s. I've been having a blast with my Blizzaks and if Bridgestone can make a witer tire like this, damn... what would they be able to make for the summer.

I think that the S02 PP's are in a different class compared to the RE 730's. I had S02's in a 225/40-18, non PP's, they were awesome, but noisy. Due to money constraints (brand new home), and the need for tires quickly, I purchased some Kumho Ecsta 712's. They, surprisingly enough, work really well, both in wet and dry, they give up a earlier than my SO2's, but almost less than half the cost of a set of more SO2's, I'm totally happy. Oh, the Kumho's are much quieter, almost scary, but my SO2's sounded like a wheel bearing going bad. I will purchase a set of SO2's when the pricing goes down again!
