225/50/16 are slightly taller than my stock 215/50/16 and the 225/45/16 are slightly smaller, So witch way sould i go and what would the difference in performance be.

Why don't you just go with the stock size?

I have 225/50R16 tires on my 98 SVT E0 and they fit perfectly. They are the same diameter as the original 205/55R16 tires that came with the 98 SVT but slightly wider.

Just for fun, go to www.bfgoodrich.com and see what tires they list as possibles for your car. For mine they had a big list that included 205/55R16, 215/50R16, 225/50R16 as well as some larger sizes (17" etc). This list included both KDW and KDWS.

I will be needing new tires soon and I'm trying to decide which one to get, but one thing I know for sure is that they will be the 225/50R16 size.

Go to the bottom of the page and click on "which BF Goodrich tire is right for me?" then load in the information about your car as prompted. The list for a 98 SVT is longer than the list for a 99 SVT because the 98 list also includes 205/55R16 while the 99 list does not.
