As I've wandering throught these pages, I have found major thing in common; other than the dash, I have read a lot of people have had blown engines. Please tell me that this is for the 2.5 and not the 2.0. I have a totally stock '99 2.0 and setting at 51,000 miles. Should i start to worry?

The Zetec engine seems rather durable. I am yet to see a thread about a blown Zetec (or at least one that didn't deserve it.)

:::Takes a deep breath as pulse goes back to normal::: Thanks guys. That had me worried. My last car is about to spin a bearing. I still have it. I drive it around the neighbor hood on ocassion.
Why are the 2.5's so prone to spinning the bearings out?

Not enough oil in the pan, IIRC.

THe zetec cannot be killed by conventional weapons...atleast that's been my experience.
The 2.5 problem is a crank whip problem...thats my opinion. Keep up on maintenance and get a DMD and you'll be fine.
