after reading the other posts I felt that there are a couple of facts that need to be clarified.
The Kumho tires that are raved about and have won many autocross events are not the Ecsta Supra 712's. They are the V700 Victa racers which are race tires and are very good. The 712's are not very good in the performance arena and will not perform nearly as well as many other tires in it's class.

Sumitomo HTR 100's
just to name a few. They are not up to the level of performance as almost all other Ultra High Performance tires but, they do have good ride quality and wear characteristics.
