I would say that I raced at least 6 or 7 MTX Focus. There are quite a few in my area. Maybe the guys couldn't drive or maybe I just got lucky, but from my experiences a stock Focus (exlcuding the FSVT) is no match for my stock 95 LX. Remember anything can happen at the "track"
The question asked was "What do you think would win in a race". Everyone automatically starts talking about 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times. Those are not the only races there are. From a roll, let's say 40mph a stock 2.5 would absolutely eat up a Focus. From high way speeds the MTX will lose a lot of it's advantage over the ATX.
My vote still goes to the Contour.

Why do you say that. An MTX is always more efficient & you can stay in the engine's powerband.

The standard focus is 130hp and 135 ftlbs of torque. Can that really compete with the 170hp and 165 ftlbs of torque from the contour? Or does that not make much of a difference?
