I gotta tell you, it's hard to find the numbers on a Contour, especially a 95.

Anyway, here's what I found. Resources www.consumerguide.com and www.edmunds.com

FOCUS ZTS 0-60 9.2
FOCUS SE 0-60 9.7 (Zetec, probably the one you are looking for)
Contour V6 0-60 9.3
01 CIVIC 0-60 8.4

These numbers make me question the validity of the information and I will tell you why. I own a 2001 Civic LX (which was the one used in the test above) and a 1999 Ford Contour SE SPORT V6. There is no way that my Civic could hang with my Contour, especially 0-60. Anyway, these numbers show that the Contour V6 Auto and the Focus Zetec 5 Spd are pretty stinking close. I'll keep searching and see if I can find some more realistic numbers.

EDIT: And even according to the information pages on www.contour.org, a 1995 Contour SE with the 5 Spd goes from 0-60 in 7.7 seconds, I have a feeling the automatic is not far behind that. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND THE PERFORMANCE NUMBERS FOR A REGULAR CONTOUR???? mad Anyway, this is what I've found, draw your own conclusions, but in no way is the FOCUS a faster car.
