In reference to a Multi-state meet, several of us from the KY Chapter are planning on attending the next Nashville area autocross on the 18th. I don't know for sure how well the Contours themselves will be represented, as I will probably make the trek in one of the Mazda's and CrazyJoe24V's SE is still in the shop from his previous autocross exploits, but I still expect somewhere between 5 and 8 of us to make the trek. For event info, go here: Nashville Region SCCA

Yep, I'll be there. It's at Twin Fountains I believe. Would be great to meet some fellow CEG'ers. If you don't want to race, you could just come to hang out, we usually try to go to dinner afterwards.

I might come and watch...don't think I will race since my car is stock. Maybe once I get some lowering springs and a sway bar. I will be coming from knoxville so any idea on what would be the best way taking I-40 to get there?

There are directions off of the above link, I think. Rather, I hope since I have never been there either. As far as coming from Knoxville, just take I-40 west Once upon a time, I used to manage a movie theater about 30 minutes west of Knoxville in a scary little town called Oliver Springs. At the time, I lived in Oak Ridge where the water glows. Really not too bad of an area. I actually miss it and the friends I made there. You shouldn't be afraid about running your "stock" car in the autocross. The SVT is really quite far from stock and does rather well. My wife has ran hers at just about every event this year, and does quite well in it, with a K&N filter being the only mod. Chris Ludwig, who has now given up his SVT for a Mustang GT, won STS (which is a mods allowed class) in the KY Region. His SVT was also bone stock. When I say he won, I just don't mean single events either. He won the entire season. Don't shortchange yourself out of a lot of fun because your car is stock. At any rate, look forward to seeing you there.

There are directions off the site but they are nothing more than one line directions...it says I need to exit off I-24 and I was looking at a map of central TN and it looks like there is a way to get to I-24 from I-40 but I don't know if it would be better to take I-40 into Nashville and then take I-24 from Nashville or take the detour to I-24

Don't be afraid to race a stock SVT. They're incredible in stock form. Like James said, our friend Chris won a mod class using a stock SVT. I don't even have an SVT and I do alright, only thing I've done that really helps at an AutoX is 16" wheels with some performance rubber. But if you wanna come and watch that'd be great too, always up for meeting other CEGers.

hey there, Wthermans, you are correct there is a way to get from 40 to 24.....it is called 840....on I-40 it will be exit 235!? that might be wrong, but anyways, it is is highway 840 towards chattanooga....this will be about an hour quicker than goin into nashville and coming back out. once on 840 exit onto I-24 heading east. follow directions from there. hopefully i will get out there as i live off of exit 66A right off of I-24!!! hope to see the CEG'ers there.....by the way, where could i find you once at the event??

Where in Nashville is the Twin Fountains? I can get to Nashville from Chattanooga easily, I just don't know my way around town very well.

Thanks for the directions I am trying to get off work for it...looks like I will be able to come out. ...I don't really know the race area that well so if you want to set up a place to meet that would be fine with me.
