I've also heard that the next generation Mazda 6 will be released as a Ford product in the US in a year or two. From what I've read in
Automobile Magazine and
Road and Track , this is an good choice for the auto enthusiast, with stunning looks and a well-balanced chassis.
As you probably know, the current European Mondeo is a very flattering clone of the VW Passat, which would make a very nice replacement for the Taurus if they ever chose to bring it stateside. Knowing the bean counters (and Ford's current financial straits), an American Mondeo never saw the light of day because the Taurus was cheaper to build.
