I went to my dealership to test drive a new Focus SVT and this salesman told me that Ford might bring back the Contour. I dont know if this guys hittin' the 8 Ball before work or what but thought I'd see if anyone knew anything else.

I haven't heard anything about that, but the is a new vehicle that taking the place of the Cougar and the ZX2.

the rumor going around is they're bringing the Mondeo back for 2004 or 2005 and it may be marketed under the Mercury line. But I can't tell you my source, except I can tell you it came from a trustworthy guy at a dealership....

I wouldn't expect the Mondeo until ford kills the Taurus which will probably 05-06! -Andy

If you want a preview of the "new Contour" go to a Mazda dealer in November and look at the new '6' sedan.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO.
Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!

I keep up with both you guys here at contour.org, and tempotopaz.com... on TT they have some heated discussion on what the new mid size sedan type of car is going to be. I was always taught that the Tempo is the original Contour.... I found the discussions over there were very interesting to say the least. Go to www.tempotopaz.com, go to the fourms. click on Tempo & Topaz general discussions and about half way down the page there is a thread called "2003 Ford Tempo" They've got a petition going to Ford, maybe we could help them out ~ put in a few Contour ideas ~ 
Proud driver of a 1990 AWD Ford Tempo, but a Contour girl at heart! :-)
