Bummer. Sorry 'bout the ticket. I haven't gotten one since '94, in Virginia for doing almost 50 in a 35 zone. The cop said he did me a favor by having the ticket say "disobeying a traffic sign" instead of "exceeding speed limit". I think it was only $65. I learned my lesson then.

You know the funny thing is now I live in Owasso and drive around Tulsa all the time and see cops everywhere, I always drive 5mph over the posted limit, EXCEPT in school zones, construction areas, and near police stations. And I have never been hassled. I have even passed cops on 169 northbound and southbound doing 5mph over the limit and they have not hassled me. I guess I'm just pushing envelope?....

I drive 5 over on the interstates and h. ways too. I have a friend who is taking the police training course at OSU-OKC and we go to discussing this post the other day and she told me that leagally, you can drive 10 over on the interstate, and 5 on highways and not get fined, that is, you aren't driving wreckless and weaving in and out of traffic and tailgating. So that said I've passed a bunch of hi po's on I-44 going 5 or more over 60 when there was light traffic and never gotten stopped. It's just the local hick cops in Blanchard and Newcastle that I have to look out for.

I got one for 57 in a 40 Yeah it sucks $80 Whatever

My last speeding ticket was almost exactly a year ago. I was doing a delivery for the parts store I worked for. I was doing 90 MPH in a 70 in the store's 4L Ranger. I came upon a hill and the truck naturally decelerated. I crested the hill at 84 and there was a UHP sitting at the top. I saw the car squat and two puffs of steam come out of the tailpipes. I put the truck in neutral and let it coast. He caught up to me when I was doing 30. He wrote my up for 79 in a 70 (telling him that I drove the road everyday and I could have sworn that it was 75 didn't hurt, or did it?). He told me that since I thought it was 75 he would write me up for 4 mph over what I thought it was and 9 over what it really was. Cost? $60 and my insurance company still doesn't know about it!

Then there was the time I got caught doing 100+ on the interstate in the Contour. Cost? Free. He laughed at my story and set me free.
