Someone who knows better than me might back me up, but from previous experience with 'chips' octane does matter. I haven't heard many details about chipping the 'tour, or using reprogrammers on the diag port, but one parameter on other cars/chips had to do with advance and spark curve, which means you would definitly see a benefit from higher octane. Hopefully someone here knows more....I wouldn't mind trying it sometime soon.
98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....
