Oh and Steeda, about the only person I can think of in KC that might even have one bad thing to say about me is Sam and I'm pretty sure we're cool with each other so no biggie there either.

Oh and remember arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded. Guess arguing with you makes me retarded, but at least I didn't start that way wink

I'm noticing a pattern, here.

Party A asks question.

Party B mouths off.

Party C attacks party B.

Party C and party B take over the thread with their little pi$$ing contest.

If he's lucky, party A might actually get his question answered.

Here's my advice. Party B, whoever you are, STFU.

Party C, whoever you are, upon noticing party B, keep your damm mouth shut, or take it offline.

Follow my advice and these forums will run much more smoothly. Geesh, talk about wasted server space.

(rant off, or whatever you call it.)

If the June 9th KC event is the one you are talking about, I only see one SVT Contour in STS??? The winning Subaru is a legal 2.5RS...the car that dominates the class???? I looked in the SCCA website, MFE, and it said only normally aspirated cars in STS. I know turbos can run SM and STX...maybe even STR but I don't think turbos are allowed in STS. You were right about the 8" wheel thing and I noted in the same June Fastrack that the G35 is in G Stock!

Man why did this have to turn into a pissing contest. Here is the link for results of your KC event: http://www.kcrscca.org/solo/results/s2res03.htm

Dave, I did not think the math for my bench racing was that complicated...it's amazing how easy it becomes with your daughter's calculator. laugh I think our time to race has come and gone as I'm on to the Altima now if you did not hear.

You can bet I'll be bench racing the National Event!!! GO TONY. Your 7th out of 16 was not shabby at all, Java....you made it sound like you totally choked. Still have not gotten wheel covers yet....gotta admit I like the look with them off!

The SCCA 2002 Solo rulebook has this to say about STS:
Quote:
Vehicles eligible for this category include all coupes/sedans with a minimum of four seats, four seatbelts; that are non-sports car based with a maximum engine displacement of 3.1 liters, normally aspirated and certain small displacement turbocharged sedans.
They go on to specifically list the 1.8T as an eligible vehicle as is the Audi TT.

The key point is nobody's pitting any turbo Subaru against a Contour in STS, not the rules, and not the scorekeepers in this region.

MFE, I saw that about the certain vehicles in the moutons website but they list only the:

Golf/Jetta/Beetle/Passat 1.8 turbos
Audi A4 1.8T, non-Quattro
Mazda 323GTX AWD
Mazda 323 GT
Volvo S40 & V40

None of those cars is that competitive and even the GTI Neuspeed was only barely faster than the stock Neon ACR that Grassroots Motorsports tested.

I don't see any mention of the Audi TT!!!! That would be a class dominator...and it is sports car based so ineligible.

I am trying to decide what size rims to get for the Altima. I'm leaning toward Kosei K1 racing 17 X 7.5" (16.7 lbs)$129 each, but it is tempting to get OZ Superleggera at 16.4 lbs for 17 X 8" ($280 each). Wish I could afford SSR Competitions at $375 each for 17 X 7.5 lbs but just 13 lbs!!!!
Back to work...came home at lunch to take my daughter to work in the store.

Oops, I take that back...it says in the rulebook "Audi A4 1.8T and TT, non-Quattro". The italics are theirs. Are they referring to an A4 TT or a TT? Is there such thing as an A4 TT?

MFE, the Moutons site did not say that so it may be outdated, or the search function I used found an outdated version. "And TT could refer to the A6 TT, but I don't think you can get it without the Quattro. I see nothing about a A4TT on any Audi pages, but still think having the TT in STS is a travesty when I must run STX!!! Why don't they do the smart, easy thing and say if your unmodded car runs B Stock, D Stock or F stock, you run STX, and if it runs G Stock or H stock it runs STS (provided it is a 4 seat "sedan")!!!

Anyway, thanks for the info MFE. You saved me from getting one width size too small. I just ordered 17 X 8" OZ Superleggeras from Luke with 225/45-17 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s for the Altima! Figured I would see how much faster it is than OE tires and wheels and then make a decision whether to run G Stock on stock rims or STX on the new ones. Thanks!
