In G Stock, with auto-X tires and Konis, I may have beat MacLeod and the very well-driven 300ZXs, but probably not Couture. But considering his place at the Nationals, I can live with that.

If he or MacLeod had been driving my SVT, they probably both would have smoked my time considerably.
I think Couture and MacLeod were slowed by the fast course with two substantial straights. They were both very smooth and fast in corners (as I witnessed working the hairpin) but no doubt lost time on the straights. Further evidence of the FAST course is the strong performances by the WRX D Stock winner, and the two Z-28s! The WRX D Stock winner, Jacobs, was slower than Couture at April's Detroit event, but faster at this event, which is further evidence of the faster (acceleration-wise)course.
For STS reference, the other class we run, the STS winner was an old VW GTI that ran 23.895 despite his lack of acceleration! My totally stock time would have been second out of the multiple STS cars so our car has pretty good STS potential I suspect.
For those who care about such things, my PAX time was 19.050 using the .785 multiplication factor. That would have been good enough for 10th in the PAX indexing out of 125 cars on true street tires and no other mods. The PAX top ten were:
George Williams F Stock Z-28 17.698
David Walters F Stock Z-28 17.998
Stevew Couture G Stock Neon ACR 18.15
Peter Jacobs D Stock WRX "Wagon" 18.314
Larry MacLeod G Stock 200SX SE-R 18.732
Tom Smith STS old VW GTI 18.734
Steve Krause E Stock older Miata 18.746
Steve Brouwer D Stock Audi S4 18.802
Jason Butts G Stock 300ZX 2+2(great driver!)18.988
Cole Milstead G Stock/SVT Stock 19.050
In conclusion, we need a national class driver to see the light and start driving our car! It has the potential for a top ten in G Stock or STS at Nationals!! The rest of us would learn from his legal modification techniques.
