Anyone using any of the following for track days?
Hoosier R3S03
Yokohama A032
Kuhmo Victoracer V700
Kuhmo Ecsta V700
Michelin Pilot Sport (Race tire)

Any input would be appreciated, also will the 225/50-16's work without any rubbing?

I posted this in Wheels/Tires...should have known most posters there are all show/no go! laugh

I run the Victoracer V700 for Autocrossing, but according to tirerack it was originally designed for track use.. It holds up well, seems to be very predictable so far, and a good "novice/intermediate" tire Where as Hoosiers for comparison is a full race breed tire, wears quickly(due to softer compound)(50 miles I read somewhere) Well thats my 2 Cents

I think the Victoracers would be your best bet. They seem to hold up the longest to track and AutoX. But they aren't quite as sticky as some others.

I have 225/50/16 A032Rs and must say that they are not the best choice.......

I bought them for my SVT rims and they were too wide. I needed to raise the psi on the tires quite high to stop them from rolling over.....
and to top it off i screwed up my front driver tire when it rubed against the iner fender and chunked all the way thru to the wear bars!!!

All i can say is that i'm unhappy cause i spent lots of money only 2 months ago and the tires are and now have to buy 2 new ones!

I run the Khumo Victoracers on my 2000 SVT Countour. 225/50/16's. I have had no problems with tires rubbing, and the wear on them is very good. If you can afford to replace your tires twice a season, then I would go with the Hoosiers. Most of the people I race with only run the Hoosiers for National Events.
