A 125cc shifter kart will teach you more about driving, in a shorter amount of time, at a lower expense than anything else. Period! That's where the competition is now-a-days.

I threw that out there, because it can be a cheap way to go really fast and have big fun.
Except, around here, there are often very few karts, if any, and some of our sites have "issues" with letting karts run (insurance, liability, I don't really understand why...)
And of course, it's better if you have a pickup truck to cart the kart around in.
So, karts can be great, but I guess it depends on where you are.
