I always thought that if you wanted to play in somebody's sandbox, you played by their rules. It is not about whether it makes a difference, it is a matter of being legal. I agree that some of the rules make no sense, but they are the rules.

I think you are right about if it were the same part number, but on the odd chance I had a good finish at Nationals, I would like a ruling from the National office on its legality in case I was protested in Stock, Street Touring or Street Prepared. Fortunately, the one time I went to Nationals, the car broke and I didn't have to worry about that part of the National experience. laugh
