SVT2000Contour,
You will have a blast at the Evolution school. Your Kuhmo's should make it through the school, just remember you will be getting approximatly 20-25 runs during the course of the school for Phase 1 and about the same for Phase 2 for a total of 40-50 for the two days.

Respectfully,
Andy Hohl

What about using some Yokohama A032R tires for roadcourse open track events?

If it is down to the Yokohamas or the VictoRacers, which one should I choose?

I see a lot of M3's around my area using the Yoko's. They seem to like them. My friend with a Focus also uses these tires for autox and track events. He has had really good luck getting them to last for a long time. The only thing he complained about was it took him about 5 events before they really got sticky. There's a lot of tread on the Yoko's.

I'd have to say if you're doing a mix of track events and autox then go with the Yoko's. Otherwise if it is just autox go with the Kuhmo's.

As far as which Kuhmo's to go with, I'd have to say stay with the Victoracers. They are proven to last a long time and hold really well. You can also run them backwards. They are marked as a directional tire, but I've talked to a lot of people that say it doesn't make a difference on the Victoracers. So basically run them to the wear bars on one side and then have them remounted and run them to the wearbars on the other side. Just my 2c's.

Everyone seems to forget the Toyo Proxes RA1. Last year's ITS CSCC champ ran on them, last year's CSCC BSP champ ran on them, and the current GSL leader in CSCC is running them.

Doesnt the Speed Touring and GT use Toyo Tires? Last year when I went to the Laguna Seca event, I heard numerous drivers complaining about the tires they were forced to use. I guess their lap times were even slower than the previous year because of it.

I dont know what tires they are using this year, I should cruise over to their message board and ask.

Race drivers will always complain about their tires. Its the nature of the beast.

The Proxes TS-1 is a street tire that's being used for racing and, as such, its OK but a driver has to be very careful and not use the tires up early. The Proxes RA1 is built on a race tire carcass and a can handle more abuse. Unfortunately, Toyo wanted to promote the TS-1 so that's the spec tire for the WC series.
