Was ruffling through the pages of the latest SportsCar mag, and noticed a rule ammendment that I thought I would bring up. It concerns the engine swap rule, which previously allowed engines to be swapped assuming the make was the same. It now reads:

"Engine block must be a production unit manufactured and badged the same as the original standard or optional engine for that model..."

As it stands now, it appears the the 3.0 Liter swap is now no longer an option for SM. I had been eyeing this as a possibility in the coming years, as my 2.5 is pushing 100K, now. I don't know if anyone else was thinking about trying this, but the new rules pretty much make it explicit. No can do.
