Anyone have opinions on using stock SVT rims? I want to start off cheap doing some solo2 events and thought I'd pick up a set cheap. Or are there some inexpensive wheels that are better suited for this?

Thanks for any advice!

Actually they are fairly light and quite strong. Very hard to do better than the stock rims. And if your in G-Stock, you have to use the exact same size rim anyway. So why not use them?

At $145 a piece from BAT, they aren't a bad deal either.

SVT rims are very good. I had SVT rims on my SE when I flogged it good for Solo II.

The only thing you must be wary of is clipping curbs. Aluminum wheels tend to shatter when that happens. frown But that's another thread...

What kind of car is it? If you plan to run in stock category, your options are very limited, and as I interpret the rules, you would not be allowed to run 16" wheels unless you're driving an SVT.

Street Touring, though, is more open on that point, and you'd be fine.

Let me know if you need more info.

You're right about that.. if its not an SVT you need to run STS

My car is a '98 SVT, so I'm good to go. Still hunting down a set, but there seem to be plenty of leads.

Thanks for the advice, guys!

just another 2 cents or so...
the E1 wheels are a bit lighter and are a bit more plentiful.
i'm going to get some this spring for race tires.

I would say this best race tire for looks and weight. Use the the stock tires with the BAT bar and the car will beat all cars on G stock by far trust me. Later

An SVT on the stock BFG 215/50-16 KDWs will beat an Integra Type R on 225/45-15 Hoosiers? Is this a troll?
