The SHO-Shop y-pipe does squeak into STS, but barely, from how I read the rules. I also got several opinions on this before classing myself. Because the y-pipe is between the catalytic converter and the pre-cat, it is part of the catalytic converter system.
The STS rules only prohibit exhaust modifications in front of the catalytic converter, so as long as you're behind the precats, you're safe.
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.
