I spoke with Jack Burns on Sunday. He was very complimentary of your driving in Kentucky -- to quote: "he did a real nice job handling that course."
We had 91 cars in Fostoria (OH) and Jack had the fastest PAXed time overall (yours truly was 5th in the PAX, but got the GS win over an Eclipse GSX, a Probe GT, Contour SE, and a BMW 525i).
He drove STS and nipped a couple of long-time National event drivers (John Fessler - Integra RS and Paul Wines - Probe GT). There was a guy there with a new WRX who finished 11th out of 12 in STS.
Anyway (here's the part that COULD be interesting to everyone), Jack the Sube pilot indicated that the WRX was NOT the hot setup for AutoX because of the massive turbo lag. As he said..."bog, bog, bog - BANG! is NOT how to move around a Solo course smoothly." Progressive power is where it's at - the SVT is good for that. He recommended that I stay in GS because all of the tuners are moving to DS next year, leaving the SVT as the class of the class.
So...improve your driving this year (get consistent, etc.) and win big next year, eh?
