Ok.. the new Subaru WRX, Audi A4 and BMW 330 have been added to GStock. I don't know about you guys but the thought of a Subie WRX in GStock scares me. It weighs less and has more power PLUS AWD.

Did you happen to find where it landed? I searched through the new classifications and could only find the 4 cylinder contour. No V-6 SE or SVT listed. Let me know.

Don't have a 2001 rule book. But if the SVT or V6 isn't specifically classified it would fall under one of the NOC (Not Otherwise Classified) catagories. Can someone check there rule book and see where that might put it?

2001 rule book states that the 4cyl contour is in H Stock, and the 95+ v-6 and SVT contours are G stock. Those 2 are on different lines, so i believe that up-dating/back-dating between the regular contour and the svt is illegal. Or you could just do a few mods and run STS like me! It looks like I might be fairly competitive here in the Arizona region  Ben

This is the reply I received from the SCCA...
It is assumed that the Contour V6 models will remain in GS under the new classing(2002).
The WRX was added to GS for this year as published in the April FasTrack. It will probably be moved to DS(Factory Tuner Class) next year under the new classing structure along with the Type-R's, GSX's, etc...

I had the same reaction when I couldnt find the Tour in GS! The thought of trying to run with some of these other cars is daunting. I'll just stick to the old favorite, Age and Treachery overcomes youth and skill!

The V-6 contour (even the SVT) has been horribly out-classed in GS ever since Integra Type R's have been allowed to play so it's really no difference that they're allowing all these AWD cars in.

From what I understand the TypeR and the WRX and a few others may be moved to DS a Factory Tuner category for the 2002 season.

they said that last year about the type r too. Didn't happen, I seriously doubt it will. What I'm wondering is who is the contour guy out there beating these cars..
