First point that must be answered: are you planning on SCCA auto-xing? If so, if your user name is right (zetec & gl) you will already be out of "stock" class. Wheels must be original diameter & width (i.e., 15 & 6.5 if you have a "sport" package.) Otherwise will have to run in street touring or street prepared.

As to Michelin's -- haven't see anyone run them, but that doesn't mean a lot -- I'm the only 'Tour running in my region.

Good luck and welcome to the 'Tour/'tique/'Deo racing fold.

What happened to the brakes? Was there none, or what?

there was nothing there i pushed it straight to the floor. we just got it towed home today. when we went out to get it there were no skid marks on the road so i know that the brakes did fail. the last thing that i remeber was the brake pedal going straight to the floor.
