Sounds like good advice. My set of dunlop D60A2s are almost worn out, and feel a little slippery (maybe it is the extreme cold..... but still) For the same price I could pick up a set of Kuhmo 712s or Bridgestone RE71s which should be much better than the d60a2s but may wear a bit quickly.

What I was hoping to do is get into AutoX on decent yet inexpensive $70 Hi Po tires, do 6 - 8 events this year, wear them out (yeah part of the plan) then next year pick up another set of stock rims from a junk yard
and mount AutoX rubber to them, and then get another set of Dunlops for daily use...

That leads me to the next question
what are the lightest stock rims for the 'tour? Or would the Kosei K1s be a good idea for this application?
