Does anyone know if Eibach makes their sportline springs for SVT's. I'm looking for a setup that would be suitable for track racing, but all I can really find are sport springs. If that's all that is out there, I heard that out of all of them the Eibach Pro-kit or the H&R springs are the best to go with.
Any Suggestions or recommendations?

For the money you might want to try a coil over kit from Ground Control. It's only a little over $100 ($399) more than you're going to have in springs anyway. This will give you the ability to alter ride height and change springs easily if so desired.

I would say stay away from the coil over kitt, ajusatble ride height isnt all its cracked up to be. first you need to know how and why to ajust it, second it will always alter camber/caster etc. Lastly the ground control unit is not a real coil over kitt in the sense that its not supplied with struts designed for coil over. There are other isuues, but i will stop. Ledda makes a true coil over kitt big dollars. I have the eibachs they were a good improvement, linear in the front proggresive rear, I wish I had gone with the H&R proggresive rates front and rear but require strut replacement. I also think my Eibachs give the car a bit of the nose up my wife says I am nuts but I think it does. Either of the two would be an improvement over stock. If your your going to get a lot of track time save your money get the ledda, they also make springs as does intrax. weitac also makes springs struts as does sachs and B.A.T both the bat and sachs have sportting kitts.

I'll pull out my little soap box and stand on it for a minute...
What's the most important thing to achieive is setting up a vehicle's suspension for a race track?
Balance!
A well balanced vehicle will be faster over the course of a race than an unbalanced vehcile that has superior grip. That's a pretty broad statement, but hear me out.
In a race situation you often have to drive lines that are less than optimal (passing, being passed, debris on the track, etc.) A balanced vehicle will let you drive those lines at a fast rate and in a more controlled manner.
An unbalanced (but grippier) vehicle will force you to drive essentially the same line over, and over, and over. And your competitors will see that and use it to their advantage. You'll suddenly find someone tight inside where you would normally start your turn in. You'll suddenly find someone tight outside where you would normally let the car open up on the corner exit.
So, when selecting suspension components and alignment settings, focus on achieving a neutral balance for most of the track with maybe a little bit of understeer in the fastest corners. You will have to put the components on your car and test to determine what combinations work best.

I hear the H&Rs are a little more aggressive than the eibachs. If you have the cash I you should really go with a coil over kit, something matched like the Leda or Truechoice kit. If you want something a little more cheaper or sedate then try the sachs kit or the Euro handling kit, for that matter if you want to try to stay in a stock class... oops did I say that Originally posted by timeless420: Does anyone know if Eibach makes their sportline springs for SVT's. Are there any numbers I could call or websites I could check out for the Leda coil-overs or any of the others out there?

Let me justify my recommendation. TIMELESS was looking for springs. It's a big, big jump from a spring kit to a set of true coilovers, or even a kit from Truechoice. I'm recommending something a little more in line with what he was originally talking about.
The $399 price on the Ground Control kit included caster/camber plates for my RX7 when I bought them. That's a damn good deal really, considering the plates sell for $270-300 by themselves, depending who you get them from.
Lastly, Ground Control supplies a good number of Improved Touring cars. If it's good enough for the track it's good enough for me. Surely, Ledas, Penskes, Carerras, etc. would be the ultimate. But if alot of guys with track cars aren't good enough to tell the difference, are you going to recommend that a novice throw away a grand or more? Not me.

Thanks for all the info. Coil-overs were always in the back of my mind, but money is always an issue. If a can I'll splurge for the coil-overs but first I'll have to make sure that I have enough for rear sway-bar, front strut-tower bar, camber plates, bushings and wheels and rubber.
Another question though is about the ground control camber plates. These are supposed to be universal for cars with macpherson struts but this "universal fit" concers me. Are there any other kits out there or has anyone tried these. If I go with the coil-overs camber plates will have to be on my shopping list.
