AL My sentiments exactly..just ordered mine earlier this week... As for what does it do? In the most basic terms, it provides a brace between your rear strut towers, which flex during hard corning otherwise. Not allowing them to flew helps your struts do their job better which helps your car handle better. I'm sure the more technically gifted can explain better and in more detail than that but that's the most basic version.
