Terry is correct......and if you try to send it in "on the low low" you will get popped.....and you will pay alot more than the normal fees...that would be called smuggling....

Cano, I'd suggest you study the customs and import laws.A gift or shipment to a relative can be sent duty free..in some cases. But if the customs consider that it is of 'commerical' value...both the sender and the recipient can be hit for customs and duty evasion...its a Federal thing..

It has been about 3 months since I have had the bonnet Lifters and about a year since I recieved the Mondeo ring. No taxes yet? Either way I think your supposed to pay import taxes....If this is the case I don't think you have to pay local taxes, or do you?

Thats BS and you know it. Brokerage will be about 28$ for the WHOLE shipment, and there will be about a 7% duty fee, at least in Canada. And you will pay local taxes. Thats if you are a business, and use USPS.
If you send it as a favor (gift), using regular pastage service, you pay nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada.
If you want it registered, then you pay local taxes, when you go get it from the post office.
This has been my experience, and I have received quite a few things from the US and abroad.
Cano, check your PMs.

My apologies if I was harsh. I know this whole duty system can be a PITA, seeing as they seem to calculate what you owe using the dart board approach. Anyway, I WILL order one through Cano's contact. If I am wrong, and pay through the nose, I'll post a retraction. If i am right, and save 30$ US, I will post also

Well, I have alot of respect for Terry Haines. He is knowledgeable, goes out of his way to help out with technical data, and has experience with the platform that is unmatched on this board.
That said, I think he is a good business man. Good enough not to front money without anticipated profit, and surely not to front money as a "goodwill gesture" towards the contour community. I also suspect he knows when you resell a product that is "widely" available, you are bound to run into competition. So Puppy, I would save the speach for when it really matters. Like when some people actually front their own money on some group buy project out of pure enthusiasm and love of cars, and get shafted by people who back out of the deal at the last minute. Then you can let loose.
