Sorry Micah, but I have a few questions regarding the all CF hood since I don't know **** about CF, except that it is lightweight and looks sharp. *Will the CF hood crack or bend over time? If I slam(not that I would) the hood shut, could it break? *Are there any special things I will have to do after I get the hood? Is it O.K. to wax/clearcoat, or is there even a need to do so? *Will I be able to use the stock hood prop? Could I use gas lifters? *Will it look like a lot of the CF dash kits/pedals/shifters (the woven deep look)? Will it be polished? Sorry again Micah, but for $650 I want to know what I am getting into(not saying it's not high quality, just curious). I still have to think about it, as it would be purely for looks, not weight reduction(SE ATX  ).

Carbon fiber can't be painted over right?
I MIGHT be interested in a fiberglass hood...of course if it comes with a scoop molded in. I could tell you yes or no if there were some definite prices. I want to get a scoop molded into my hood...accounting for labor and new paint, the cost might be the same or only a little less than a fiberglass hood with the scoop already in it, so maybe I can kill 2 birds with oen stone - get the scoop and save some weight. Sorry to be a fence rider, keep up the good work Micah!

[QB] No, these carbon hoods would be stronger then the stock hoods. I dont see it cracking, of course if a car hit you maybe it would, but normal days use (open, shuting sitting in the sun. so on) it will last up just like your stock hood [QOUTE] [QB] *Are there any special things I will have to do after I get the hood? I dont know if there would be a need to, but I am sure you could if you wanted too. there is no prep work needed just bolt on and leave [QOUTE] [QB] *Will I be able to use the stock hood prop? OK.... One more hand in the pot......
I don't see the idea behind a stock hood design. It is so damn hot under the hood, there should be some vents near the rear of the hood. Kind of like the rectangular vents on the predator hod, but put them across the rear of the hood. Nothing to extreme, but a subtle look, and a definate cure for the heat problem. Possibly a little raised (cowl) to lift the rear part of the hood.. Stock, but make the middle bubble up a little higher... We need to get the heat OUT!!!
I would love to get one, but other than weight savings, it's not worth it in my opinion. Marc

I know very little about auto painting.
1. Is CF a good material to paint? How much extra prep time would be involved to sand down that glossy surface? 2. Fiberglass is very paintable I assume? Would I see ANY texture behind it, or would it be just as smoothe as the stock hood?

OK Micah... Thanks for the update... Just don't put no big ass scoop on it... Just some subbtle vents would suffice..
