You just kind of have to get it in the right angle to match the opening in the base. Then it pops right out. IIRC, you have to move it to the passanger side of the car. I haven't removed the yellow plastic piece on the hood, can't quite get myself to drill out the rivets!

Please put me down for this. I missed the first one and am glad to hear that there is another. My old 85 toyota cressida (replaced by the contour) had these and I have to say it was one of the great things about the car. Would love to have'em on the 'tour. Somebody mentioned rust in the linked thread, what are these made of? Thanks.

EricL, whaddayou mean no drilling? I know I haven't been paying attention, but I'm wondering how they fit on the car without drilling...

If you look at the post of Eric L how to you can see that you just remove the bolts from the spots and replace them with the one's that come with the kit. It took me about 10 min to do. Everything comes with the kit that you need. Here's the link to Eric L's how to... the pics will show which bolts to remove: http://www.contour.org/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=005142
