You only really appreciate it once it's gone. Well, it's not even gone yet, and I'm already starting to feel some serious appreciation. I had no idea Lance was taking crap from anyone...in fact, I was hardly aware that Lance even existed! All I knew was that there was a great bulletin board here...in fact, one of the best car boards on the PLANET. I should have made more of an effort to get to know the man behind the board...if I had known sooner...I don't know what I would've done, but I would've tried to do something. Now...it's too late. But I haven't lost hope...I'm checking into how much it would cost to host this site seeing as though it requires 3-4 GB/day in bandwidth. My friend's Dad runs an ISP...it's a long shot, but what the hell.
I wish there was something we could ALL do to keep this site alive...donations, anything! But I think we've used and abused our priviliges for far too long now for a simple "we're sorry"...hopefully this will teach some people (including me) the value of showing your appreciation and not taking things for granted. Goodbye to the site I've enjoyed perhaps more than any other. It will be sorely missed by many people. The information and community here were both invaluable.
And thanks to you Lance, the man behind the board. If the board has been such a positive influence in my ownership of a Contour (and a Mystique), and even my LIFE to some extent, I can't imagine how some of the guys who have 500+ posts must be feeling right now.
