Brad,

I've got a tachless cluster that you can have forever. Got it out of a wreck from work.

I may be way off track, but what about those indiglo nightlights that run off of 110v. If you found what kind of power they need, then adjust everything so it works on 12v DC. Then you would know how much power is needed for 'X' size indiglo.

Would it work? smile

O.K., here goes...

Cardoc, thanks, but no thanks on the inverters. For the self trim glow sheets the inverter power must be slightly higher than normal and the light must also shine through slightly more material to make them truely glow in odd colors. The glow sheets I have actually glow white light and a single phase inverter is all I need since the color will basically not change (although it does very slightly on the two color one I do have).

The reason I need a cluster is to find out where I can hide all of the electrical connectors that are on the glow sheets. Dieter88, I'm sure everyone would love you for sending me a cluster to work with. Email me at bnmotorsports@msn.com to set it up.

The reverse glow designs are very easy once we get the glow sheets figured out, requiring almost no engineering work what so ever. Look for them at the same time the others come out.

As far as figuring out how much amperage they need, well, I do know a thing or two about electrical design. The fact is I need a larger inverter in order to be even close to what they need to run right. Anything I order will be an expensive "guess" at what I need. I did find another manufacturer of glow sheet material who had a formula for figuring "X" amount of volts for "Y" sq. in. of glow material which is what I'll base my guess from. The problem is, the inverter I have is from a similarly sized indiglo gauge set = differences in different glow materials' efficency. frown Wish me luck!

Thanks for keeping it going Brad. You can count me in. Though the cost is going to be fairly expensive, I'll find some cash to pay for them... Can't wait! smile

So you need different invertors because the electrical requirments? I kind of figured this because the way the glow sheets are made. I'm pretty sure they run at 120V AC around 100-120Hz but not sure about the amps. Maybe you could send me one if they aren't sunk assemblies, and I could figure something out. Most of the EL inverstors I have messed with are sunk frown

Hey Brad & Chris,

I spoke with the guy from the contour.org page. He meant no disrespect to this page or Brad. I feel for Brad, especially seeing the amount of money he's put into this! It's only that the contour.org guy's company that he works for is fronting him all/most of the capital to make this inexpensive and available. Unfortunately, I don't think Brad has that luxury. frown

I understand standing up for him Chris, seeing how he is a senior member who contributes A LOT. But is it fair to deprive contour owners of this very good offer? Brad is working on different colors and stuff which is different from the other guy's stuff. So that's great for him.

I do not mean to be out of line. I just can't stand seeing people going "Those damn CEGers" and "those damn contour.org guys!"

No, I won't quote Roddney King. But I was wondering about his famous line.

What I need to do is find an inverter that is to large and see what amperage it draws when adjusted to the desired lighting level. The ones I have now are to small, therefore I can only guess at what it actually needs.

No disrespect taken. I, for one, would love to see them made. However, I have sent Cardoc and the other person who posted info about their gauges here (can't remember their name) both private messages... I was offering to complete the orders needed to get the gauges made... No response by either. Take that as you will. frown
