vinny, I can understand your impatience and frustration as past attempts at getting a group buy like this going has been a tough thing to do. All I can say is this, WE HAVE A BITE. Carisma Auto Tech in California has agreed to a group buy to custom fabricate an ENTIRE body kit for the 98+ Contours for $13000. 13000 divided by 20 = $650 per person. If that's not a deal, I don't know what is as I was hoping for just a front end in the $500 range.

Here's the details: Basically we have TOTAL creative control on this project. We will be going with a front end that will be very similiar in design to the Saleen front end with a few modifications which we've already discussed earlier in this post (i.e. no fish gills, no custom fender work etc.) The side skirts and rear fascia still need to be decided upon. What they suggested was choose one's that we like from other cars and they will do the custom work necessary to make a similiar design to fit our cars.

Just for the record, I still have some negotiating to do with Carisma. I am still unsure if they will need the money up front or after. I also think it would cost more money for them to design a kit from the ground up as well so thats another issue too. I would appreciate your patience in this matter as I get the final details worked out.

Unless someone in California would be willing to give up their car for a month, I will have my car delivered out there and they will do the custom work to my SVT.

I hope that everyone on here who's really interested in this can come through and buy a kit. Many of the companies like Wings West and Kaminari chose not to help us out so we should all be thankful that we're working with a top notch company like Carisma. I've included a few pictures of their kits, like all companies they have some bad ones but their good one's are really nice. I in particular love the kit they have for the IS300 thats shown below.

So that's the news for now, please by patient and stay tuned as I try to gather up more interest and work out the final details. here's the link to the site and if you have any questions, please contact me and not them! Carisma Auto Tec

Oh yeah, if everything works out according to plan I should be able to work out a group buy on a Carbon Fiber Hood too if the interest is there...

I don't mean to get off the subject, but since we are doing a new kit, I had an idea.... I really think that it would do wonders for the look of the car. OK.. Here it is.....
If we swap out the headlights to Mystique lights, we will be able to get rid of that oval, and get a grill like this made with the rest of the body kit...
Anyone following me here?? Notice that the Mystique headlights point in the center. Anyways that was my brain storm, but I couldn't find anyone that would custom make me a grill piece..
This definately should be a consideration. Don't you think?? It would make the car look totally different... BETTER!!!

Since everyone has a different opinion, I'd have to see a picture before agreeing on anything. Will it even end up looking like the Saleen?

Alleyway: There was a white Contour at the Nopi Nationals who had the Skyline front bumper molded to his car and it just looked okay. But that may be good news for you because it can be done, I don't want to know the price but it could be done. For the sake of organization, a clean body kit and everybody else who's interested, we will stay with the Saleen style front end. But as far as the sideskirts and rear fascia, please don't hesitate to post pictures and your thoughts on the subject.

Christof: Yes, this front end will stay true to the Saleen that we've discussed. Pictures will be shown after the kit has been molded to my SVT. By that time, I would be surprised if they didn't ask for the money for the group buy. I understand those circumstances may be too much for many to deal with and I have no problem with people who feel that way.

But that's the reality of this. All I can say is that the kit will be executed to everyone's liking and that the front end, side skirts and rear end will be custom fabricated the way we ask. I will personally make sure of that.

Hey I wanted to post my opinions for the body kit. I think that the closer we keep the kit to the original Saleen Contour the better. The side skirts, back end, and everything should stay just the way they are. I love the way the Saleen Contour looks. I was just wondering, is everything going to be bolt on fabrication? Also, the hood on the car above: Is it a Mondeo? And can that hood be purchased and fit to a Contour SE? Thanks for everything, especially the Saleen ground effects kit, I am excited for it to be made. laugh

I wasn't suggesting the Skyline front end, I actually hate the way it looks..
Iwas just targeting the front oval grill area. I was hoping maybe the Saleen bumper will have a grill on it to, to replace the oval...
If not, I'm still down with it.. I live about 30-40 minutes from Chatsworth, I don't know if I could part with my car for a month... Let me know if I can help.. The only way I will possibly do it, is if I can get a hookup on a kit...

Since I'm a man of 1,000 questions (not always good ones either), I have a few things on my mind. How much will this bad boy cost (estimation is fine), when will it be done (or when will I have to dig up money), what parts are being made (b/c the saleen has different fenders even), and the most important one, will it fit my 95 contour?
