Guys, Micah's real busy so here's what we were discussing Sunday when I was over there.

- The guys are playing with carbon fiber to "learn" how the mold works. Final "production" copies will be sprayed in fiberglass (not hand-laid). This yields better results as far as controlling thickness and avoiding air bubbles goes. "Laying" carbon fiber or fiberglass biaxial mat is one of the toughest manufacturing arts in the world, not realistic at the price you are getting.

- The few of us that know Micah personally know that he's not one to complain. But this whole process did bust his budget by several grand. This means that he's paying mucho $$ out of his own pockets to get the initial batch out for you folks. This means he puts up with his unfinished car because his money is locked in this bumper venture.. This means he might miss SZ for monetary reasons.. and there's something about that which bothers me deeply..

On top of being eternally grateful, please do the community a favor and strut your stuff once you get your bumpers painted and installed. Advertise like you never did before and make sure everyone with a pre-98 gets to drool over your bumper. Get out there and get some serious orders going on, try and help the pioneers.. cuz they will go away if they get burned and end up losing all the time...

I'm done patronizing now. Think about this stuff though, I mean it and I'm not alone.

About Micah's car .. it rules. Seeing this thing (or trying to follow it) cannot be explained. Even without the front bumper there's an aura around it, it just screams badass-get-the-fu(k-outta-my-way. I love the thing. Knowing that he built every stage of it with hand tools in his garage just boggles my mind.
