Whats up guys, I'm just trying to let everyone know about this group buy because the more orders we get the better it is for everyone. I was looking for an OBD-II so I contacted OBD about a possible group buy. They replied and told me that they would give us 2% off of the $122 price tag for every order we get with a maximum of 20 orders. That means if we get 20 orders then the price drops from $122 to $73 and that price INCLUDES shipping. Just PM me with your first and last name and e-mail address because OBD requested a list of names and e-mails so that when we get 20 orders I will send the list to them to contact each of you individually. This means I will not be handling any money, OBD will be handling everyones money, I guess you could just call me the messenger. Since the module that OBD uses for the cougar is used for all Ford Motor Co. cars, the PCM module, the module will also work with the Contour. Anyway, I thought it was a good price on a VERY useful tool. If you've never heard of an OBD check their website at www.obd-s.com. Just let me know if you are interested. By the way, I already have 8 orders! Thanks.

Sorry to be "that guy" that asks the stupid questions. But what exatly are the advantages of the obd... I tried to look on the site but can't really grasp the concept. Sounds really interesting, but I can't figure out exactly what the point is.

Thanks,

Alex's OBD-II scanner rules. You can monitor all of the I/O from your PCM, like coolant temp, timing advance, MAF readings, O2 sensor readings and associated fuel trim values (am I lean or rich?). About 300 or so values can be monitored once the enhanced data is set up properly, although not all are used on the Contique. You can also see all CEL codes and any pending codes as well as clear the codes (and reset the PCM in the process w/o pulling fuses or the battery cable). You can record data and replay or output data later. Very handy troubleshooting tool to have.

This is a handheld unit or just the software for a Laptop?

I have a laptop so if the answer to the above is handheld unit, can I just get the software and cable for less?

For $73 either way I'm in.
