I put my order in and the group buy is up to # 10 now. Seeing as my CEL light goes on and off like an alarm clock the sooner I receive the better. I have ordered triple combo so maybe I can do some freelancing. Yes it will save money since many nuisance situations can be resolved easily. At least I will know what is causing the issues and have history in 'my' memory register

From TCCA forum (7/18/01 11:47 PM ET):
22 orders already! Below I will just post the e-mail I sent to everyone:

quote:
we have 20 orders as of now! This group buy will be held open as the last one was for one day extra. As of tomorrow morning at 8am will be the cutoff day. So let anyone you know who wants theirs right now to hurry up and send their info in to me! After 8am I will forward the list of everyone's contact info on the list to Alex Peper of obd-2.com, from there he will discount you 40% off the product of your choice. The group buy seems to be going very well, so please let everyone with an OBD-II computer system about the discount!!

Anyone that wants to get in on this buy must send an email to obd-2@tauruscarclub.com by 8 AM tomorrow. I haven't gotten the email yet myself. It is uncertain if there will be a third group buy run by TCCA. Have a nice day. smile

If your waiting on a George Bush Jr. Tax Rebate for other things, you shouldn't hold your breath. You might miss out on a lot of other IMPORTANT things.

Have you heard of anyone actually getting a check yet ??

Just got the notification in the mail, $600, b/c filing married jointly, or 5% of salary blablbalblabla, whichever is less..... (so you do the math wink , btw, not to troll, just FYI.

Looks like I'm in after all.  My wife has been very difficult to convince that this is something we really need; after all, ?Ninety percent of people with cars get along just fine without it.?  However, given that I've been determined to get this, and given the opportunity to save 40% on the cost, she quickly figured out how to juggle things so that we can afford it without waiting for the George Bush Jr. Tax Rebate.

So, about an hour or so ago, I sent in my request to get in for a Triple Combo.  Looks like I cut it pretty close.

Moonlight Blue 1996 Mercury Mystique GS , Zetec engine, ATX.  No mods. (Well, OK, one mod.  Before I got rid of my previous car, a 1994 Tempo, I swapped radios.  I liked the Tempo's radio better.  That counts as a mod, doesn't it?  I also kept one of my Tempo's wheels to use as a spare.  I hate those stupid ?compact? spares that come with modern cars.  Does this count as a mod?  If so, I guess I have two mods.  Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)

I'm in... Glad I looked at the Group Buy forum for a change...

I have a scantool already but the ability to capture real time data was too valuable to pass up. My scantool only captures a few seconds... Not very helpful for tuning only diagnosis...
