I really think that back when that mechanic cut your hose, you should have had him pay for it and replace it, at his expense.
I dunno if 2 years later is too late to go after him for it now, but I really don't think that you should be paying for something like that.
Did you know back then that he had cut the hose? or are you just finding out now that there are cuts in the hose???
