Just for clarification, Motown's comment is about the Palm interface from another company, not the one we are trying to get the group buy through.

Code = P0171 = Lean Bank 1
Code = P0174 = Lean Bank 2
or better how about one with no codes and runs rough.How about take it to your dealer and have qualified tech DIAGNOSE your car.

How about trying to do it yourself to keep FordTechs from shafting us? Nobody here claims to be a rocket scientist. You want to take your car to Ford for repairs? Good luck.
Given your code scenario, I can guess just as good as any mechanic at Ford.

2 of us share one of the OBD-II scanners that Alex is selling. He helped with some problems I had, and now everything is working great. I have had 2 CE lights (mis-fires due to my wife leaving the lights on), and Phil had an EGR code. I think that the $100 or so we put in (got all three modules for all types of cars) has been saved in diagnosing what the problem was and fixing it. I would suggest it. I got the small length cable, but have spliced it so that I can use a small cable for inside the car with laptop, or a longer cable for use with my PC in the garage. CAT5 cable.

Qualified Tech? How about Go fu(k yourself. I'd rather try to fix it myself than have one of you "techs" screw with my car.

You can guess as a mechanic but as a tech we diagnose.For this example it could possibly one or more of three things.Possible MAF sensors,vacuum leak, or O2 sensors.But you have to know what you are looking for.Such looking at the short fuel trims,the long fuel trims,the baro readings, and o2 operation.I just saying would it be easier to pay 60-70$ for diagnoses, find out whats wrong and then fix it yourself.Just a thought.That's if the dealer has a good tech like myself.Most of the good techs are leaving do to Fords Motor Company's labor time cuts and foul practices of the last 4 years.There is noone else to fill in those A tech slots thus you're stuck with c and d techs.What a bummer.I myself am an A tech.Im still hanging but thinking.You will have to excuse me sometimes.I have become bitter over the years and really do not wish to be.Sorry

It looks as if we have about 7-9 people interested. I think that we should close this out maybe the end of this week or early next week, and take our 15-20% discount. Right now, here is who I have interested:

AggieSVT (me)
Stinger00
ryanwoodSVT
mangler
bito98
SVTNate

and a couple of others that I know of.

I'm interested. I have access to a Ford Computer anytime I want but I have to drive 50min. to hook it up. I have been able to diagnose everything so Ford Tech I think you give yourself more credit than due. All you do is grap the code and you can pretty much tell what is happening. The cost of the thing is two trips to the dealer. I wanted to get in last time. I'm glad we have this going again. How much for the extra 100' of cable?
