because they knew chevy would just make a faster camero. now that that their main rival is out of the ring they want to box. it is a joke. ford just let chevy push them around for years and didnt fight back. now that the camero is dead they come out with this beast. it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Chevy couldn't put more power into the Camaro or Firebird because then it would be too close to the Corvette in power. Mustang for Ford is the muscle car so if they wanted (and did) they could put any amount of power into it because it had nothing on the line to compete with. GM had the Camaro, Firebird, and the Corvette. And with power numbers similar to each other they didn't want to take sales from each other if GM decided to raise the power in the Camaro and Firebird, Mustangs competitors.
