Hey guys, I emailed a company that makes CNC machined and chrome plated HVAC knobs for the Mustang and asked them if they would be interested in making them for the Contour. I think that Tim Kirk tried to convince them to make these things last year but something fell through with em. Is anyone interested?

The knobs they make for the Mustang and Viper look to be top notch and really cool. They also make a matching lighter element for the Mustang that has either "SVT", "Stang", or "Eject" engraved on it. Those look pretty trick as well, and I think Tim picked up one for his car.

If anyone is interested, post at http://contour.org/forums/Forum1/HTML/004614.html as I'm going to email that thread URL to the company so they can guage interest.

The website for their Mustang accessories is: http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang.html Check it out..

Whatever happened with this?

IIRC, I thought they were going to make the knobs for the tours this spring. Did it fall through?

Perry, I'd be interested, but I can't access the thread.

FWIW, the tour knobs look to be very similar to the stangs...

Did I mention I have access to a CNC machine!!!!

If there is enough interest I can get these made up. The link does not work that you provided...I am assuming its in aesthetics so I am heading over there now...

email me if you wish to discuss.

Ok,

Pricing will all depend on the quantity that I will need to produce.

For this to proceed then what I will need is for people to start posting here if they are interested in having such HVAC knobs. I am thinking to make this economical we will need close to 30 sets. I can not guarantee that this will be done, let me talk to the engineer as I will need to prototype this first to make sure it fits properly. The two biggest factors affecting the cost of these will be the prototype cost and the set-up cost, so the more units we can spread this over, the lower the end cost!!!

I want serious posts only. If enough interest is evident then I would say a 50% deposit to make sure people actually want it!!!!

I am thinking the cost will be close to the one on the mustang site at $40-50US

so now all that is left is to post here now!!!

Hmm. I guess that post got lost in one of the UBB crashes. There was about 20 people that were interested in them. MGW said that they would produce them this spring for us, so I just emailed them to ask what's up. I had completely forgotten about these.
