My SVT was tested at .83 g's, better than the Eclipse same mag tested, so there's your handling. A good stick driver will raise eyebrows anywhere if he knows how to shift on the street, and I've gotten "drag car" comments from many passg's. BTW, I discovered by accident how a tight turn will kill the engine from oil starving...thing doesn't even squeal them tiny tires, so I still don't get them that puts bigger rubber on 'tours....stock on mine is fine, more traction would kill the tranny, I think, or the engine if a deeper pan/windage tray isn't installed. Corners good enough to put your co-pilots head into the window if you're not careful.
98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....

HE HE HE- Ive done both of those as well! And to answer your original question: Could I get some of your opinions on which you think would win on a road course. Not opinion but facts right? well the tour would- if it were an SVT hands down- but the ES300 was never a sports car- and its always been a very bad handler as far as "spirited" driving- on a long road trip however the ES300 would eat up the tour! but as far as on a road course the tour would win the day.

The skidpad with the original tires was .86 & with the wider, superior KDW's & different strut valving was .90

The skidpad with the original tires was .86 & with the wider, superior KDW's & different strut valving was .90 I am aware of how the contour handles, I used to own one . My comment was merely to correct the misguided notion that a skid-pad rating is the end-all statistic for a good handling car. A set of soft-compound slicks on an 57 Chevy can produce a nice skid pad number, but it doesn't make it a great handling vehicle! :p
