Wow, that's a better deal than the one I got! Looks like a change of plans for us!

Tokico's are good struts. The difference is they are self adjusting (no manual adjust knob). I guess it's good and bad.

also, are tokico shocks any good? adjustable?

thanks,
brian

How come the rear ones aren't listed? I've heard rumors that the rears are short in supply for some reason.

Koni's are adjustable for compression only, while Tokico has two models, the HP which is non-adjustable, and the Illumina, which is five point adjustable for both compression and rebound. I heard that Tokico is supposed to release aftermarket struts for the Contour, but I haven't heard when. Kinda funny because they're the OEM for the SVT Contour.

Dion, did you say Tokico makes the OEM strut for the SVT? They make a pretty rugged strut from what I hear. Do we really need to change em if we add Eibachs? Will they wear out prematurely?

it's not really the quality of the strut, Dan. It's the fact that with the smaller spring the strut is under a constant compression that's higher than that of stock. Yes, a good strut will take it longer, but you need one that is designed for a shorter spring.... as in, not the OEM Tokicos.

ok...i have been thinking about this. if i get eibachs in the front and back, my car will be lower. that is ok with me. if i keep the stock struts, they will wear out prematurely. so, i will need to get koni's. if i set the koni's on the highest setting with the lower eibachs, will my tires still scrape the fender lip when i hit pumps? i have tried rolling the fender and it still scrapes when i have 2 passengers inthe back seat. lastly, can i get eibachs and a set of konis for the back and temporarily keep the stock struts in the front until i get more $$? or is this stupid?

Baco99,
I've got Leda springs and my stock struts still. I've had this set-up for a little over a month now, and no problems yet with the struts. I'm going to replace them as soon as I can though

fwhyte,

do you have a wheel/tire upgrade? any problems with rubbing in the rear with the new springs? i can pick up the eibachs from carparts with the coupon for 200 including shipping. what do you think?

Depending on how long it takes you to replace your stock struts, I'd say go for it. I have the stock 14" wheels with 60 profile tires and no rubbing. The Leda springs are supposed to be a 2 inch drop too.
