For more power, there is the Jackson Racing Supercharger which has been available for a while for $2400.00. Add that to the $18K for the car and you still have a pretty reasonable package and take care of the main shortcoming of the SVTF. You just have to deal with the warranty issue.
I though tthe SVTF handled very well and does not beat you to death in the process. The Focus has so much aftermarket support already, you can get just about any mod you want. Maybe that will motivate Ford to get off their butts and produce the Turbo Focus that they have on the SVT WEB site; that way you get the power and the warranty. My Contour has a few more years left in it, I will just wait and see.
I also drove a WRX; man what a blast! Just can't get past the looks though; maybe they will re-style it.
